HAPS SYS: Exploring a Mission Control Interface

Explore the public HAPS SYS interface, its Mediterranean mission scenarios, and the capabilities that remain on the INNO HAPS development roadmap.

A Public Interface for Mission Planning

HAPS SYS is a publicly accessible web interface at flight.innohaps.com. It presents how future stratospheric missions could be organised through maps, mission records, atmosphere-planning views, and operator tools.

The interface is useful evidence of software and workflow development. It should not be interpreted as evidence of an active aircraft fleet, live flight telemetry, or validated autonomous operations.

Four Modules, One Integrated Platform

HAPS SYS is built around four core modules that together cover the full lifecycle of a stratospheric mission.

Mission Control

The command-centre view illustrates how position, telemetry, endurance, and mission status could be brought into one operator display when connected to validated operational data sources.

Missions Library

The library demonstrates a structured record for mission objectives, geography, payloads, and status. The Mediterranean examples currently shown are illustrative scenarios:

  • Aegean Sea Environmental Survey — multi-spectral monitoring of sea surface temperature, algal bloom patterns, and microplastic distribution zones across Greek territorial waters.
  • Mediterranean Air Quality Monitor — continuous atmospheric sampling measuring NO₂, PM2.5, ozone, and carbon monoxide levels across coastal and inland corridors.
  • Black Sea SAR Surveillance — synthetic aperture radar coverage for maritime domain awareness, detecting vessel movements and oil slick events with day/night capability.

Workflow status can progress through planning stages, helping teams document readiness decisions.

Atmosphere

This module shows how temperature, pressure, wind, density, and solar-irradiance data could provide atmospheric context for mission planning. Data provenance and operational use must be assessed for each source and future mission.

AI Copilot (coming soon)

The AI Copilot is a planned capability. Potential functions include route analysis, anomaly review, and draft mission briefings, all subject to model, safety, and human-oversight validation.

What the Interface Demonstrates

HAPS SYS makes the proposed ground workflow tangible for partners. It provides a basis for discussing operator needs, mission records, geospatial presentation, atmosphere data, and future system integration.

Important work remains before an operational ground segment could be claimed: secure command links, validated telemetry, aircraft integration, access control, reliability engineering, and safety assurance all require evidence.

Organisations interested in future mission planning, payload integration, environmental observation, resilience, or connectivity can request an INNO HAPS mission briefing. The briefing separates what can be explored today from what remains planned and to be validated.
